The countdown has begun, Paris Saint-Germain is on the lookout. While the Stade de France is in the crosshairs, interested candidates have until January 3, 2024 to finalize and submit their application file. As of today, three potential buyers stand out according to The Team : PSG, a French group and the Vinci-Bouygues consortium. Although the submission date had originally been set for November, the candidates were granted additional time. All the more reason to respect the specifications to perfection. After studying the various files, the State will decide between the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025.

Among those interested, PSG has a plan in mind (putting pressure on Anne Hidalgo) but above all a solid file, since The Team says that the government would welcome the capital club’s interest in the Stade de France. For this XXL project, estimated at 1 billion euros, similar to that of the renovation of the Parc des Princes, Paris surrounded itself with specialists: the Populous architectural firm, the constructor Eiffage, the company Legends Hospitality, and experts in the sector, such as Philippe Collin-Delavaud, former general director of the Stade de France. The only hiccup is that PSG would like to renegotiate a certain clause. Indeed, the club would be reluctant to have to host, for 25 years, matches organized by the French football and rugby federations, such as the Six Nations Tournament, with consortium status. Enough to shake up the hopes of PSG, while an outsider stands out, even if his name is not yet known. This French group would like to combine many sports, such as football, rugby, but also basketball and padel. A real soap opera which should last for several years.
