After his first goal with the France team, Jonathan Clauss looked back on the Blues’ historic evening against Gibraltar.

If Gibraltar was not the ideal opponent to gauge the players of theFrench team, the big victory (14-0) of the Blues will have allowed three players (Zaire-Emery, Clauss, Fofana) to score their first goal in blue and to gain further confidence. For the Marseille full-back, very successful at club and starting for the third consecutive time with the French, this meeting was also marked by his very good understanding with Kingsley Coman on the right side.

Clauss jubilant

On the set of Téléfoot this Sunday, the former Lensois looked back on this historic evening for the French and his first goal. “There are a lot of emotions left, it’s the perfect evening. Even though Gibraltar has been a bit of an inferior opponent compared to modern football, there are some incredible things that have happened. We all benefited from it”confided the 31-year-old.

The Blues number 2 then returned to his good performance with Kingsley Coman on the right side of the Blues. “It happened naturally. I had to play behind him from the very beginning so there are discussions, complementarity, he is a very intelligent player. We quickly come to understand each other, I really like playing with him. It must continue and we must persevere”he said.
