The owners of Paris Saint-Germain will sell a minority share of the capital club to American investors.

New investors approaching Paris Saint-Germain. According to The Athletic, Qatar Sports Investments (QSI), 100% owner of the capital club, is preparing to sell a minority share of PSG to Actos Partners, an American investment fund.

This transfer may raise fears of Qatar’s disinterest in PSG, but it is a scenario which is opposed by Marc Armstrong, Chief Revenue Officer of the Parisian club.

We have no interest in selling the club, it will be a minority stake, assures the Parisian leader. The owners are more committed to the club than ever, as evidenced by the money we spent on Poissy and what we are prepared to spend on the stadium: they are both long-term investments. This is an opportunity to take our business to the next level and particularly in key markets, such as the United States. »

Qatar’s idea is simply to find new partners, hence this transaction in sight with Arctos Partners, an entity which also owns shares in Liverpool or in the Aston Martin team in F1. “ This company has a history of investing in sports franchises, they have experience and know-how on their advisory board and we can work together to take our company to the next level“, explains Marc Armstrong.
