Kylian Mbappé and his Paris Saint-Germain teammates may have to make an unexpected trip to the Democratic Republic of Congo in January.

As Ligue 1 champions, PSG will face Toulouse, winner of the Coupe de France last season, in the Champions Trophy. The match, originally scheduled for August, has not yet taken place and was unexpectedly postponed.

The match has since been rescheduled for January 3 and was originally planned to be moved to Qatar or Saudi Arabia. According to The Parisian, it is the Democratic Republic of Congo which would be the probable destination of the clash between PSG and Toulouse. But nothing is decided yet and the match could well take place in France.

This duel was initially scheduled to take place in Bangkok, Thailand, in August. However, the original organizers canceled the event, with reports claiming the cause was due to the health of King Rama X’s daughter.

PSG and Toulouse will therefore probably face each other at the beginning of January. But before that, Paris will challenge Monaco on November 24 to try to retain first place in Ligue 1. Then, the Ile-de-France club will meet Newcastle in the Champions League.
