A potential transfer from Real Madrid for Kylian Mbappé should be the big saga of the year 2024.
Los Blancos remain heavily linked with a free transfer for the France captain, despite rumors of frustration over his contractual demands.
Mbappé is at the end of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the 2023/24 season and no progress has been made regarding the renewal of his lease.
Real Madrid are unlikely to make a big push to sign Kylian Mbappe until a deal is certain, after the Spanish giants infamously failed to sign him in 2022.
Daniel Riolo therefore believes that a transfer of Manchester City striker Erling Haaland would be more judicious.
“If I put myself in Real Madrid’s shoes. I tell myself that it doesn’t make sense to sign Mbappé, given the squad I have. I think it would be better to go for Haaland,” he slips.
Haaland could become a target in 2024, if Real Madrid decide not to put pressure on Mbappé, with a release clause of 200 million euros expected to be activated in his contract with City.
