Barça management would like to retain its Portuguese full-back, Joao Cancelo.

Portuguese full-back Joao Cancelo was loaned last summer to FC Barcelona and the Catalan club now wishes to keep him in its squad permanently.

Barça seeks the right solution for Cancelo

According to Sport, City is asking for 50 million euros to part with their player. A price that Barça considers too high. Catalan officials hope that their English counterparts will reconsider their request.

Barca offer City a new season-long loan with a mandatory option worth €35 million.

Cancelo’s contract with City runs until the summer of 2027. He has scored nine goals and provided 22 assists in 154 competitive matches for the English club. With Barça, since his arrival, he has scored 2 goals and offered an assist (14 matches).
