We know why the former OM coach, Igor Tudor, did not commit to Naples.
Igor Tudor’s agent has explained why an agreement could not be reached with Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis.
Tudor and Naples not on the same wavelength
After sacking Rudi Garcia, De Laurentiis first looked at Tudor before appointing Walter Mazzarri as coach until June. Anthony Seric, the representative of the Croatian technician, told La Gazzetta della Sport: “The club has a very clear position. He wants a manager who aligns with the 4-3-3 and discussions have focused on how to develop it. “
It was therefore purely tactical considerations which meant that the former OM coach did not take charge of the reigning Italian champions. “If we talk about Tudor, we are aware of the type of dynamic play he offers with wingers all over the pitch. If a club of this caliber calls him, that’s wonderful, but it depends on what he needs and how he does it. I think it was better to listen with interest to De Laurentiis’ proposal. “
To conclude, the agent affirmed that Tudor is not at all upset by this outcome. “Igor is phenomenal, he is certainly among the best in Italy. But I was not disappointed. They were simply two ideas too different to be compatible.”
