In response to a question asked by a journalist this Friday at a press conference, Kylian Mbappé paid Thomas Tuchel and Mauricio Pochettino.
Since wearing the Paris Saint-Germain jersey, Kylian Mbappé has seen many coaches come and go. Before being coached by Luis Enrique, the captain of the France team notably played under the orders of Christophe Galtier, Mauricio Pochettino, Thomas Tuchel and Unai Emery. Present on Friday during a press conference organized on the eve of a qualifying match for Euro 2024 between France and Gibraltar, Kylian Mbappé addressed a small dig at two of his former Parisian coaches.
Asked about the criticism made by Luis Enrique who had estimated in front of journalists that he could “ be better in a different way“, while he had scored a hat-trick against Reims, Kylian Mbappé first mentioned this sequence: ” You have to ask him why this timing. But I took it very well. Like I said, he’s a great coach, I know he has a lot to give me and teach me. (…) Since the first day (…), I told him that he would have no problem with me, that all I wanted was to play football.“
“They spoke to me very, very badly”
And Kylian Mbappé then mentioned Mauricio Pochettino and Thomas Tuchel, suddenly leaving his usual restraint aside to criticize them: “ From my experience with the different coaches that I have had, with the coach (Didier Deschamps), with other coaches, with Pochettino, with Tuchel. These are coaches who, in quotes, spoke to me very, very badly (smile), but that did not prevent me from playing very well, from having a very good performance and from having very good relationships with them. » The two men will perhaps appreciate the confidence made by their former player at PSG.
