Liverpool management is working to get their hands on a winger and it is not Kylian Mbappé.
While they were believed to be very interested in signing Kylian Mbappé next summer, Liverpool leaders are now reportedly thinking of another offensive reinforcement. Less expensive, but perhaps just as efficient and useful.
Liverpool explores a less expensive route
Liverpool are eyeing Leroy Sané. His interest in this Bayern striker is very real and could lead to a transfer this summer. This is what BILD journalist Christian Falk thinks, who spoke about the situation in a recent video.
Falk clarified Bayern’s position and Liverpool’s view ahead of possible negotiations for Sané whose contract expires in 2025. He said: “Leroy Sané is currently in the form of his life with Bayern and, as reported, Liverpool FC and Jürgen Klopp have their eyes on him. And now Bayern are finally reacting. As sports director Christoph Freund confirmed in SportBILD, contacts have been made.”
“I listened around me. FC Bayern would like to extend their contract with him. That’s why he offered to meet after the international break. A conversation must then be agreed directly with Sané’s consultant, Fali Ramadani. He will then fly to Munich and we will finally be able to speak with him. Will he extend his contract or not? I heard he felt very, very good in Munich.”
A game of musical chairs involving Mbappé
By offering Sané a new contract, Bayern could sell him better. Otherwise, the Bavarians should not get much from his transfer. “Leroy is estimated at 20 million euros. There is still a little room, but not much more. At Bayern, the top salaries reached 25 million euros. We must therefore discuss. The contract should be extended. But Bayern must hurry”added Falk.
If they cannot retain Sané, the Munich residents could possibly turn to… Mbappé. Indeed, the name of the French international has been circulating around the Allianz Arena for some time.
