Cristiano Ronaldo never stops scoring with his Portuguese selection. Thursday evening, during the qualifying match for the Euro against Liechtenstein, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner scored 128e goal on the international stage. This is obviously a world record. He had surpassed the previous record holder (the Iranian Ali Daei) several months ago.
Cristiano Ronaldo, always higher
Of the 128 goals scored by CR7, 108 came in competitive matches. As he celebrates his 20th anniversary with the selection this year, it says a lot about his competitive side and his consistency.

Ronaldo has an exceptional goal average and this does not necessarily decline with age. The proof, in 2023 alone, he found the net 10 times with the Lusitanian team. It’s number 6e time in his career that he was in double digits in a calendar year.
Note also that with this last goal, he also joined the Belgian Romelu Lukaku at the top of the ranking of scorers in the Euro qualifiers. Both men have 10 goals each.
