Erling Haaland’s agent has refused to reveal the release clause in the striker’s contract, saying the Manchester City star is “master of his destiny”.
The prolific Norwegian striker scored 52 goals in all competitions last season, breaking countless records in the process, and helped City achieve a historic treble of the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League. He has continued to shine this season, leading to speculation of supposed interest from La Liga giants Real Madrid.
There is reportedly a clause in Haaland’s contract that could be triggered by teams outside of England in the summer of 2024, but Rafaela Pimenta told Relevo when asked what it would take for that to happen. an agreement is concluded: “Erling’s contract is known to Manchester City, his father, himself and myself.
She went on to say of the transfer rumors that continue to rage: “Erling is master of his destiny. Not just today, but his whole life and 100%. What I mean is that you have to find a balance. Us, the club and the player. We are all in this together. We have to talk about things, deal with them, in a way that everyone can understand. Comfortable and satisfied with the experience they have together. I think it is unnecessary to say that Erling does what he wants. This is not true. Erling will always do what is right for himself and his club, Manchester City. When everyone is ready to make a change, it gets done. He’s not the type of player who will say ‘I’m leaving, goodbye, I don’t want to know anything’. It is not like that. And that won’t happen because respect comes first. If they give it to him, he will show it too.”
Pimenta has suggested in the past that Haaland could be worth up to €1 billion in the transfer market, and he expanded on that comment by saying: “When I talk about a billion, I’m talking about a package in which I include career years, sales potential, tickets, t-shirts, sponsors, digital and everything that will come and which does not yet exist. It’s impossible to say how much each thing costs. You are actually asking me how much the transfer costs and you don’t have to ask me. The market says so.”
