Mikel Arteta is in the eye of the storm. For his critical remarks about refereeing after Arsenal’s defeat against Newcastle on November 4, the Gunners coach will have to be held accountable. If the 41-year-old Spaniard had spoken about “absolute shame”the English Federation decided to take action, indicating that the latter was now accused of a violation of rule E3.1 of the FA.
“It is alleged that his comments constitute misconduct because they are insulting to match officials and/or detrimental to the game and/or bring the game into disrepute. Mikel Arteta has until Tuesday 21 November to respond to this accusation”thus specifies the instance.
