Luis Suarez is in the twilight of a brilliant career. Considered one of the best strikers in history, El Pistolero will have left his mark on the history of FC Barcelona and Liverpool. Often sparkling with Uruguay, the 36-year-old striker is considered a model for several of his young teammates in the selection. This is the case of Darwin Nunez who currently plays with the Reds and who tries, as best he can, to perpetuate the Uruguayan tradition of lethal attacker on the banks of the Mersey. Better this season, the former Benfica went through a bad patch last year and was supported by Luis Suarez.
As his elder revealed on the microphone from ESPNthe latter called the 24-year-old striker to support him last season: “Darwin has potential, technical and physical abilities and he shows it. As a teammate, I’m not surprised because I knew it. When he had a bad time at Liverpool, I spoke to him. Liverpool asked me to speak with him. I advised him and explained to him what English football was like. He, with all the heart he has, opened up to me and told me what was happening to him at that moment. I talked to him about it. I told him to take number 9. As a teammate, I’m happy for him.”
