After a disappointing start to the season, Rudi Garcia has been dismissed from his position at Naples.
Rudi Garcia’s adventure in Naples lasted only 16 matches. The French coach was dismissed from his duties this Tuesday by the Italian club. “Società Sportiva Calcio Napoli has decided to revoke the role of Mr. Rudi Garcia as technical director of the first team. Thanks to him and his team for their collaboration to date”indicates the club in a fairly succinct press release.
Appointed this summer at the head of the reigning Italian champions, Garcia is paying for his team’s very average start to the season. His record is 6 wins, 3 draws and 3 defeats in the league, as well as 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat in the Champions League. Naples is fourth in Serie A and still in the race to qualify in C1, but beyond the results, it is the game proposed by the Partenopei which poses a problem. Already weakened by difficult relations with stars Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Garcia lost all credit with his leaders after the pitiful defeat against Empoli (0-1) on Sunday.
After thinking of Igor Tudor, President Aurelio de Laurentiis finally decided to recall an old acquaintance, Walter Mazzarri. The Italian coach, who managed Napoli in 2009 and 2013, has been appointed to play duty until the end of the season.
Walter Mazzarri is the new allenator of Napoli.
