Israel – Palestine: The underside of Pascal Praud’s controversial video

The former sporting director of FC Nantes, Pascal Praud, is still in the news for the wrong reasons.

The time when Pascal Praud was a respected and friendly speaker at Téléfoot is long gone. Today, the man who was also Waldemar Kita’s right-hand man at FC Nantes has a knack for attracting trouble and criticism from all sides. This is what he did in particular during one of his last participations in a news program.

Praud puts all Palestinians in the same bag

Praud was present on the CNews set for a Sport bulletin, notably in the company of Thomas Doucet and other columnists. Thinking he was off the air, he said to one of them: “If you could stop defending the Palestinians off-air that would be good.”

His interlocutor then replied that he was not doing it, that he was just trying to explain. A position confirmed by the others present. Praud did not go back on his comments, however. Quite the contrary. He then gave in to a real slip-up with a discriminatory statement and a very dangerous conflation: “The Palestinians want to kill Israel, and that is the truth.”

Praud alongside Kita during his time with FC Nantes in the mid-2000s. A bad memory for Canaries supporters.

After expressing his extremist opinion, Praud left the set angry. Without knowing of course that everything he said at the time was filmed. The journalist with whom he clashed told him that his position was “aberrant”, he didn’t want to hear anything.

The scene is currently making the rounds on social networks and the CNews presenter is taking credit for his bad behavior. This does not differ too much from the tumults he had experienced near La Jonelière. But, at least at the time, he was not expressing such contested and morally reprehensible ideas. Looking forward to the day when someone dares to put him in his place.
