OM: Marcelino returns to service

Barely two months after his departure from Marseille, Marcelino officially found a bench.

The 58-year-old Spanish coach, who resigned from OM on September 20, is back in business in the country.

José Rojo Pacheta freshly sacked, Marcelino was recalled as reinforcement by Villarreal, current 14e La Liga club.

“Villarreal CF and Marcelino have reached an agreement for the Asturian to be the coach of the Submarine until 2026, i.e. until the end of the current season and two additional years,” indicates a press release from the Iberian training.

Former coach of Sevilla, Valencia and Bilbao, Marcelino has already officiated at Villarreal in the past, from January 2013 to August 2016.
