Pep Guardiola believes Chelsea are a better team than Arsenal after Manchester City’s 4-4 draw against the Blues.
Chelsea and Manchester City produced a great Premier League classic on Sunday, with Cole Palmer’s penalty goal allowing the hosts to hold the reigning champions to a 4-4 draw at Stamford Bridge. Pep Guardiola, however, did not regret not being able to come home with all three points, as he praised the performance of Mauricio Pochettino’s side. He even claimed that the Blues were a better team than Arsenal.
Although Pochettino’s men are currently 10th in the table, they have managed to remain unbeaten against three of the top four teams in the championship. While they drew 2-2 and 4-4 against Arsenal and the Cityzens, they comfortably beat Tottenham 4-1.
At the microphone of Sky Sports After the match, Guardiola said: “It’s a very good team, there’s no doubt about it. They were much better than Arsenal and in the end Arsenal drew. So you know, it’s Chelsea, they’re not going away. I always have to think about what we can do to improve. We’re not going to come here and win 7-0. They are trying to rebuild. We have nothing to complain about.
“We go into (the break) leading the championship and I didn’t expect that after the Arsenal defeat. The next matches will be very difficult.
The Premier League will be interrupted due to the international break and will resume on November 25, with a match between Manchester City and Liverpool for the first ever match after the break.
