The Ligue 1 match between Stade Rennais and Olympique Lyonnais was marked by tensions this Sunday.
Given the stakes, the dynamics and the positions, it is in an electric climate that Stade Rennais faces Olympiqu Lyonnais, bottom of the championship, this Sunday. A contested meeting under high tension, as evidenced by a scene which took place before the break.
While the two teams were going to return to the locker room with a goalless draw, an altercation between Bruno Genesio and a member of the technical staff of Olympique Lyonnais took place. The Stade Rennais coach then insulted Rémy Vercoutre, the OL goalkeeper coach, in a rather virulent manner: “ You’re not in Lyon here so you shut up », blurted the technician, very upset.
The two men almost came to blows before being separated by Alexandre Lacazette, replacing at the kick-off of this match. An exchange which takes place in a very specific context since Genesio, former OL coach, left the club in general confusion a few years ago.
