Inter Milan celebrated their new partnership with Qatar Airways by lighting up the Giuseppe-Meazza stadium purple on Sunday evening.
After a San Siro red with happiness on Tuesday evening for AC Milan’s victory against PSG (2-1) in the Champions League, the Giuseppe-Meazza stadium (official name of the venue since 1980) returned to Inter configuration Milan. The Nerazzurri’s lair was lit up in purple to “celebrate” the new partnership with Qatar Airways on Sunday for the visit of Frosinone.
The airline of the small emirate became one of the sponsors of the Lombard club for a sum of 1.5 million euros for the rest of the season. Above all, Qatar Airways could become the jersey sponsor of the Interists from next year, instead of Paramount+, against 18 to 20 M€ per year. The contract has already been negotiated and should be signed next January.
Inter Milan is benefiting from a nice windfall of money from Doha, since the sponsorship contract with Paramount+ (an American video-on-demand service) brings in half as much (€10 million). AC Milan, however, collects more money, since its jersey sponsor, the Emirates airline, gives it €30 million per year.
