Manchester United did the minimum on Saturday against Luton Town in the Premier League (1-0). Thanks to Victor Lindelöf, the only scorer before the break (59th) and preferred in particular to Raphaël Varane, the Red Devils move up to 6th place in the standings, temporarily three points behind Liverpool (4th) who play Brentford at 3 p.m. Despite the numerous extra-sporting affairs, the disappointments in C1 and the tense atmosphere within the club, Erik ten Hag’s men are not left behind in the championship either. The former Ajax coach is even calm about the situation of his team and the chances of the Top 4.
“Even after all the setbacks we have suffered, we are still in a position close to Top 4. When we start playing well and have a team ready for weeks and months, (then maybe, editor’s note) other teams will also experience setbacks and drop points. Now we’ve won four out of five games in the Premier League, we’re in a pretty good position if you see all the problems we’ve had. This is a reason to be optimistic”, confides Erik ten Hag following the Mancunian success. Not sure that a victory against Luton will make us forget the rout against Copenhagen in the Champions League…
