Ibrahima Konaté is injured in the back of the thigh and it is Axel Disasi who has been called in to reinforce the France team by Didier Deschamps.
After having played almost the entirety of the last two meetings of the French team, against the Netherlands (1-2) and Scotland (4-1), to the great dismay of his Liverpool coach Jürgen Klopp, Ibrahima Konaté will miss the Blues’ final two matches in the Euro 2024 qualifiers against Gibraltar next Saturday and Greece the following Tuesday.
The Liverpool centre-back, who did not play against Brentford at Anfield on Sunday, has suffered a hamstring injury on the back of his left thigh and needs two weeks’ rest , as indicated by the FFF on Sunday evening.
Axel Disasi was called in as reinforcement and is expected like all the other players called up by Didier Deschamps on Monday at Clairefontaine. The former Monegasque continues his tenure with the Blues and thus played in the clash against Manchester City (4-4) on Sunday.
🔄 Axel Disasi replaces Ibrahima Konaté, unavailable ❌
