Chelsea and Manchester City offered an incredible match to the Premier League followers on Sunday, with a final result of 4-4. Pep Guardiola’s team will spend the international break at the top of the table with a one point lead.

Between a Manchester City leader for a week at the expense of Tottenham and a Chelsea who had just beaten Spurs with a resounding score (1-4), the clash promised to be thrilling. But Stamford Bridge did not expect such a spectacle. A match with an incredible scenario saw the Blues snatch a 4-4 draw in added time of the game!

The Cityzens first led 1-0 on a penalty from Erling Haaland (25th), then Chelsea reversed the situation with goals from Thiago Silva (29th) and Raheem Sterling (37th), before Manuel Akanji’s equalizer (45th+1). It was therefore 2-2 at half-time before a second period also prolific in goals: Haaland scored his 13th goal in the PL (47th) and Nicolas Jackson reset the counters to zero (67th).

The end of the meeting was even crazier. Rodri thought he had given victory to the Mancuniens five minutes from the end of a shot deflected by Thiago Silva (86th), but the Londoners obtained a penalty (for a foul by Ruben Dias on Armando Broja) and it was ultimately Cole Palmer, the young talent trained at Man City, who took charge of the penalty for 4-4 in the 95th minute.

The reigning English champions are the only leaders in the standings for the international break, ahead of Liverpool and Arsenal, who have one point less. And City will resume with a shock against the Reds in two weeks! Chelsea are only 10th in PL, 10 points from the top 4.
