Former French international, William Gallas, believes that Chelsea would be making a big mistake by betting on this striker.
Former Chelsea defender William Gallas believes the London club should not bet on Napoli striker Victor Osimhen. According to him, the Blues already have the right attacker in their squad.
“Chelsea must trust Jackson”
The ex-internation declared in his column for Lord Ping: “The arrival of Victor Osimhen at Chelsea would damage the confidence of players like Nicolas Jackson. You have to be careful and think carefully before bringing in a new attacker. As I said before, I think Chelsea should finish the season with Jackson and see how many goals he scores.”
For Gallas, the Senegalese international has all the makings of a future great. “We also need to see how he improves. He has the quality to do it. Chelsea must let Jackson work. Jackson’s hat-trick against Tottenham has certainly boosted him, and we’ll see that confidence carry over into his future matches. »
“Chelsea need a striker who will score at least 20 goals per season. I don’t know if Jackson will make it, but at least he scores. I hope other goals come for him. I think Chelsea should stick to their squad. They bought so many players and the team needs to get to know each other.”added Gallas.
Finally, the 2006 world vice-champion said he was confident that Chelsea will soon return to a rank more consistent with their status. “It looks like Chelsea are slowly starting to improve. I said a few months ago that the Chelsea team was not ready to challenge for the title or qualify for the Champions League. However, they will improve compared to last season. I am sure they will be very strong next season and the one after that.”
