Arsenal won at the Emirates Stadium against Burnley (3-1), to return to equal points with Manchester City at the top of the Premier League. Manchester United, for their part, snatched a victory at Old Trafford against promoted Luton (1-0).

Surprised last week by Newcastle, Arsenal bounced back when Burnley visited by winning 3-1 on Saturday afternoon. Enough to allow the Gunners to overtake Tottenham, crucified earlier in the day in Wolverhampton (2-1), and to return to equality with Manchester City, the Premier League leader, who faces Chelsea on Sunday.

Mikel Arteta’s men controlled the game perfectly, even if Leandro Trossard only found the opening before half-time (45th + 1). Josh Brownhill made the entire North London public doubt by equalizing (54th), but the locals regained the advantage thanks to a header from William Saliba (57th) and a fine goal from Oleksandr Zinchenko, before being reduced to 10 after the exclusion of Fabio Vieira (83rd).

Also in front of its home crowd, Manchester United did not offer more of a spectacle than in recent weeks but won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Victor Lindelöf on a mix-up (59th). Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund (still no league goals…) came out injured, while Raphaël Varane and Anthony Martial came on 10 minutes from time. The Red Devils are 6th, coming back 5 points from Tottenham, who are therefore 3rd.
