Wayne Rooney is perhaps the best thing in the Premier League. A true living legend in England, the man who revealed himself at Everton at the time, created his legend in a particular context since alcohol always played an important role in his life, especially during his career. In a podcast launched by Rob Burrow, the former center forward opened up and explained how his addiction allowed him to cope with fame and pressure. “When I was in my twenties, alcohol served as a release for me. I would go home, spend a few days at home and not go out. I drank almost until I passed out.”begins the former glory of the Red Devils.

“I didn’t want to be among the others because sometimes you feel embarrassed. Sometimes you feel like you’ve disappointed people and ultimately I didn’t know how to deal with the situation. When you don’t accept help and advice from others, you can find yourself at rock bottom, and that’s what happened to me for a few years. Fortunately, today, I am no longer afraid to talk to people about my problems”, explains Wayne Rooney, who was quickly plunged into the deep end. What is certain is that alcohol did not prevent him from becoming the most prolific scorer in Manchester United history.
