Present during the last gathering of the French team last October, OGC Nice central defender Jean-Clair Todibo lost points in the eyes of Didier Deschamps following a “nervous laughter”, not playing a single minute in the selection. Asked by Nice morningthe Blues coach explained his situation, before returning to his complicated performance against Germany, for his first appearance with the double World Champion selection.
“With Nice, he doesn’t lose much in any case (laughs). It’s great that he was able to express himself in his own words. He didn’t have to smile that smile, explained the French technician before continuing. This will serve as a lesson to him, I hope. (…) His match in Germany, due to adversity and the lack of reference points in the team, was difficult but these are elements that I take into account. It’s mostly what they do afterwards that’s important. It is better for them to maintain the requirement.”
