Kylian Mbappé admitted that Paris Saint-Germain “failed on a few points” in the defeat against AC Milan, but he did not answer the question about winning the Champions League this season.

The Parisians suffered their second away defeat in the Champions League on Tuesday evening against the Serie A giants (2-1). After opening the scoring with Milan Skriniar, Stefano Pioli’s men responded with Rafale Leao and Olivier Giroud.

Mbappé, who had not spoken to the media since June, did not hesitate to admit the setback against Milan, but refrained from highlighting the details that led to the defeat.

“It’s a defeat, a second away defeat, it’s never easy to lose, we’re disappointed. We failed on a lot of points and we will try to react at home against Newcastle,” the striker told reporters after the match.

Asked about the reasons for the difficulties encountered outside, he replied: “I don’t know, I don’t know what happened. We are disappointed, we tried to put all the ingredients on our side to win, but it didn’t happen like that.”

PSG has still not won the Champions League. His obsession with the European trophy is however well documented.
