PSG lost a second Champions League match this season against AC Milan, with a winning goal from Olivier Giroud on Tuesday evening in a boiling hot San Siro.

The San Siro public was especially waiting to whistle at Gianluigi Donnarumma and send him counterfeit notes, “Dollarummas”, three years after his departure. It must be said that AC Milan was absolutely no match for PSG at the Parc des Princes two weeks ago (3-0). That was without counting a huge victory for the Rossoneri against Luis Enrique’s men, Tuesday evening, in a crazy atmosphere, a certain Olivier Giroud being the executioner of the French champions…

With this second defeat in as many trips in their LDC group, the Rouge et Bleu lose first place in the standings and it is Borussia Dortmund who take the lead with one more point after their success against Newcastle. PSG is only one point ahead of the Milanese before hosting the Magpies in three weeks and finishing against the Yellow Wall of BVB.

Mbappé on a bad day

The game initially got off to a very strong start, with Milan Skriniar opening the score on a deflection at the near post from Marquinhos (9th), then the equalizer with a return from Rafael Leao, after a strike from Giroud was repelled by “Gigio” (12th). The two teams then shone with their clumsy finishing, like Kylian Mbappé who failed to finish in front of Mike Maignan on two occasions. Ousmane Dembélé found the bar from afar (27th).

The match changed at the start of the second half with a headed goal from Giroud, who dominated Skriniar in the air on a cross from Théo Hernandez (50th). With their backs against the wall, the Ile-de-France visitors lacked the genius to equalize. Lee Kang-In and Gonçalo Ramos were launched in stride by Luis Enrique (60th), the South Korean left-hander finding the post before added time (88th).
