In a chaotic atmosphere at San Siro and after a first leg largely won by the Parisians (3-0), PSG now had to ensure their qualification for the round of 16, while, for their part, the Rossoneri risked elimination in case of defeat. With Dembélé, Kolo Muani, Vitinha and without Kang-In Lee, Luis Enrique and his men started the game perfectly, quickly opening the score thanks to a point-blank header from Skriniar (1-0, 9th). A fiery start to the match, since it only took three minutes to see Giroud stumble on Donnarumma… before Leao performed a sublime acrobatic return to equalize (1-1, 13th). Subsequently, Paris had many opportunities to restart the match, but Mbappé missed his shot with the tip of his right foot (25th). Before Dembélé found the crossbar (28th). PSG failed to make a difference and lacked offensive creativity, while Loftus-Cheek and Leao made the Parisian defense miserable.

The start of the second half was even more complicated for the Parisians. On a counter-attack, Théo Hernandez could find Giroud at the penalty spot. The Frenchman got the better of Skriniar and could make San Siro scream (2-1, 50th). Awakened after another save from Donnarumma (58th), the Parisians regained the upper hand, but once again, Mbappé came up against a vigilant Maignan (70th). Donnarumma also responded and saved PSG, on a strike from Okafor (85th). But with too much technical waste and despite a post hit by Lee at the very end of the match (89th), PSG was unable to do better and had to settle for a second defeat in four Champions League matches. With Dortmund’s victory, PSG remains in second place and must not miss out against Newcastle United, at the Parc des Princes. For its part, AC Milan escapes with this victory and will have to beat BVB to hope to return to the race for qualification towards the 8th finals.
