The Man City board has reportedly identified the technician capable of replacing Pep Guardiola when the latter retires.
Pep Guardiola is currently living his 8the season on the Manchester City bench and it may well be his last. Michel, the Girona coach, is expected to succeed him at the head of the Sky Blues.
The Manchester City board has more ideas
Michel has put Girona at the top of the La Liga table, with the Catalans under the tutelage of City Football Group. Bruno Alemany, local journalist, spoke on Cadena SER: “This suggests that several players and the coach will soon depart. We’ll see what happens. Míchel is a great coach who optimizes players in a way that others are not capable of. For now, Michel has done better than Xavi. If Guardiola said in June ‘it’s over, I can’t take it anymore’… Manchester City would consider the Michel option, that’s for sure.”
Sique Rodríguez also said on the show: “We interviewed Ferrán Soriano on the SER and he told us that Míchel was a very, very popular coach within the City group.”
And then it was around Santi Giménez to bid: “It seems that Guardiola and Michel are very good friends. They met one day, they had one of Pep’s meals like the one he had with Bielsa, they sat down at the table at 1 p.m. and got up at 12 p.m.
