The Champions Trophy is still in an impasse. While the meeting between the reigning French Champion, Paris Saint-Germain, and the winner of the Coupe de France, Toulouse FC, was to be held this summer in Thailand, the match was ultimately canceled due to the withdrawal of the local promoter. Since then, the Champions Trophy has been rescheduled for this winter, to January 3, but the location of this meeting has still not been defined.
According to information from The Team, several countries then expressed their interest such as Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Morocco and more recently the Democratic Republic of Congo. But for political and logistical reasons, the Champions Trophy could ultimately take place in France. After Thailand’s withdrawal, Téfécé had also offered to host the meeting, but nothing has yet been decided.
