Real Madrid star Endrick Felipe is set to make his Brazil debut at the age of 17 after caretaker manager Fernando Diniz called him up to the Selecao.

Endrick had already been capped four times by the Brazil under-17 team, with whom he had scored five goals, but he had yet to make his first appearance for the under-20 team. However, Diniz has clearly adopted the philosophy that if you’re good enough, you’re old enough.

The Palmeiras striker has only played 54 times for the professional team, scoring 14 times. After his brace that inspired Palmeiras’ recent comeback against Botafogo, Diniz decided to take him to the senior team, where he could make his debut against Argentina or Colombia on November 17-22.

Endrick will be joined by his future Real Madrid teammates Rodrygo Goes and Vinicius Junior, as well as Raphinha. Former FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid defenders Emerson Royale and Renan Lodi, now at Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, are also present.

Endrick will stay at Palmeiras until July 2024, when he turns 18, before joining the Santiago Bernabéu for a fee of 40 million euros (which could go up to 60 million euros). Expected to define a new era of football, it raises great hopes.
