It was the transfer that all Parisian supporters were waiting for at PSG this summer. At the very end of the summer transfer window and after an eventful series, Randal Kolo Muani (24 years old) left Eintracht Frankfurt for an amount of 90 million euros, bonus included, in order to sign up with Paris Saint-Germain, for a 5 year contract. After 10 meetings with PSG, the French international has a mixed record of 3 goals scored and 2 assists made.

In an interview given to RMC Sport and before the shock at AC Milan, the ex-Nantes player returned to his transfer to PSG. “There have been quite a few noises and stories. It was a little complicated for me to live with, but I am very well surrounded and it went well”he first explained, admitting that he was proud to have done everything to return to Paris, an opportunity that should not be missed, according to him. “It’s a legendary club for me. There is a lot of pressure, we are expected around the corner. There are a lot of requirements.”

Randal Kolo Muani had difficulty digesting his transfer

Before admitting to having had difficulty adapting to this new environment. “It’s true that the first months were very complicated. I wasn’t settled. I was digesting the transfer a little. There are a lot of expectations around me with the amount, a lot of pressure. At the beginning, I had pressure, but now it’s easing a little (…) I know that people judge me based on this amount. Afterwards, it puts pressure on me, because I have to prove that I am worth that amount. You don’t have to worry about that.”also explained the Ile-de-France recruit.

But despite increased competition in the Parisian attack and the fact of arriving in a new environment, with a different playing system, Randal Kolo Muani recognized that he was playing his football again and having fun again, with notably a click during the match won against OM. “For me, it’s a new challenge. There’s also a lot of competition up front so I’m trying to learn from everyone (…) But this goal (against OM) really relieved me, it did me good. The one against Milan too. It’s important for a striker to score and have the confidence to have fun on the pitch.”. Things are therefore better for Randal Kolo Muani, who nevertheless admitted that he still had areas for improvement, particularly in his work with his back to the game.
