Having spent with OM for a little over two seasons, Mattéo Guendouzi moved to Lazio Rome this summer. The 24-year-old French midfielder no longer seemed to fit into Marcelino’s plans at the time while Pablo Longoria also hoped to sell him to recover a nice sum. Eventually, he joined the Italian club for around 13 million euros. A choice that he does not regret as he quickly established himself. And at the microphone of Téléfootthe French international explained his departure from Marseille.
“In the second season, things were no longer the same with a lot of instability. We changed coaches many times in the space of two years. A new workforce that transforms each time. There was no continuity from that. So, a choice had to be made for me, a choice had to be made for my career”, he confided. The Marseillais will appreciate it.
