A Klassiker with a capital K, this is what Bundesliga enthusiasts were treated to this Saturday. In a Signal Iduna Park which was overflowing with fans and passion, Borussia Dortmund (4th) hosted Bayern Munich (2nd) for quite a shock. The Marsupials hoped to overtake the Bavarians when the latter chased Bayer Leverkusen who had temporarily taken a five-point lead after a narrow victory against Hoffenheim (3-2). Logically, we could expect quite a meeting and a great clash of styles. If the first point was respected, for the second this was less the case. Quickly in the lead after a goal from Dayot Upamecano (4th), Bayern Munich crushed this match to win 4-0. A success which bears the mark of one man: Harry Kane.
Exploiting excellent work from Leroy Sané to double the lead very quickly (9th), the English striker was invaluable. Hitting the post shortly after (31st), he maintained a constant danger on Gregor Kobel’s cage and streamlined the Rekordmeister’s attack. Close to delivering an offering for Jamal Musiala narrowly offside twice (46th and 70th), the Englishman finally saw double following a good cross from Kingsley Coman (72nd). Then at the end of the match, he concluded his recital with a new achievement after a good undermining job by Aleksandar Pavlović (90th +3). Winning 4-0 with a hat-trick from Harry Kane, Bayern Munich crushed their rival and maintains contact with Bayer Leverkusen. A successful performance which also confirms the dream debut of the former Tottenham player in Bavaria.
Harry Kane makes Rober Lewandowski forget
With this new hat-trick – already his third at Bayern Munich – Harry Kane has 15 goals in 10 Bundesliga matches. He has just become the top scorer in this championship, overtaking Serhou Guirassy at the same time. With 17 goals and 7 goals in 14 matches, the right-hander seems unstoppable, having been decisive in 11 of the 14 matches in which he took part. CEO of Bayern Munich, Christian Dreesen was happy at the microphone of Sky Sports Germany of the impact of English: “It’s just fantastic. As someone partly responsible for this transfer, you are happy when things go so well and so quickly. I hope it continues like this.”
Appreciated in Germany, Harry Kane remains loved and followed at home in England where the press was rave about him. “Harry Kane breaks Bundesliga record with stunning hat-trick as Bayern Munich beat Dortmund in classic” proudly title The Sun. Another tabloid, The Mirror, lets us dream of a first title for the 30-year-old striker: “Harry Kane continues his rapid debut at Bayern Munich. His teammate Manuel Neuer was not surprised by this hat-trick but has been satisfied with this significant reinforcement since this summer: c“It’s just the experience and all the processes and actions that he went through during his career. Of course, he didn’t leave them in England, but brought them to the Bundesliga. He has shown it with the greatest bravery since he wore our jersey. We are so happy to have him on the team and he shows it week after week.” After a year spent without a real new one and the departure of Robert Lewandowski to FC Barcelona, Bayern Munich is relishing Harry Kane’s takeover. Moreover, the latter is the first player to score 15 goals in 10 Bundesliga matches since Gerd Müller during the 1968/1969 season.
