While he is gradually finding his feet at Paris Saint-Germain, Ousmane Dembélé remains in the sights of other teams. Arsenal were, however, cooled on the subject by Emmanuel Petit.
Recruited this summer by Paris Saint-Germain who poached him from FC Barcelona against the fifty million euros of his release clause, Ousmane Dembélé is slowly but surely adapting to his new team. Twirling and bringing movement to his right side, the French international nevertheless suffers from a glaring lack of realism in the last gesture. A recurring problem which has led some to say that Paris might want to part ways with it in January. If, however, the facts seem very different, as Luis Enrique seems to be counting on him, certain big teams remain on the lookout. This is the case for Arsenal, who however received a warning.
And if the Gunners want to strengthen themselves offensively, the Ousmane Dembélé option would therefore not be the best, according to Emmanuel Petit. The former Arsenal player gave his strong opinion on the subject on the site OLBG. “ Ousmane Dembélé is struggling because he has gigantic pressure at PSG. He misses his chance on a lot of opportunities and he doesn’t score a goal. His debut was complicated, so I can’t recommend Dembélé to Arsenal. »Rather than the former Borussia Dortmund player, Emmanuel Petit mentioned another player he would like to strengthen the London team.
Toney, the first choice
“ I’m a big fan of Ivan Toney. He’s done a great job with Brentford since they returned to the Premier League and I’m not surprised they’re struggling without him. (the player was suspended for eight months by the English Federation last May, for breaches of sports betting regulations, editor’s note). (…) Whichever team picks up Toney in January, if he leaves, will be a great deal. If Arsenal have any chance of signing him, they must go for it. » For now, Brentford manager Thomas Frank has said he wants Ivan Toney to stay at his club “forever”. However, he could break down if a good sum is offered to him. Arsenal and Chelsea are in the mix.
