Ballon d’Or: Erling Haaland doesn’t hold a grudge against Lionel Messi

In Paris, at the start of the week, Lionel Messi came to conclude a legendary year for the Albiceleste by winning the Ballon d’Or. His eighth career. A coronation which was and still is the talk of Europe, while some think that Erling Haaland also deserved to lift this individual trophy. But according to the words of Pep Guardiola, the Norwegian striker was not disappointed by the verdict given last Monday in the Capital.

“I would say that I saw Haaland very happy to win the Gerd Müller award and to be in the running for the Ballon d’Or alongside Messi, Mbappé and the rest of the players”confides the Spanish coach. “It was a good night for Manchester City. Congratulations to Leo Messi and Aitana Bonmatí for the awards they won”, concludes Pep Guardiola. Despite his fantastic season, Erling Haaland had to settle for a good 2nd place. But the future looks bright for the 23-year-old.
