After being sanctioned quite heavily by the Italian Federation, Sandro Tonali finds himself under investigation by his English counterparts.

Sandro Tonali’s season came to an abrupt end last week when the Newcastle midfielder was caught by his country’s sporting justice system.

For taking part in illegal betting while playing for Brescia and AC Milan, the 23-year-old was suspended for 10 months by the Italian Federation.

Recruited last summer by the Magpies for more than 50 million euros, Sandro Tonali is now under investigation by the English Federation, we learned on Friday.

Tonali played his last match, on October 25 during the third day of the Champions League. The next day, he learned of his suspension.
