In an interview with BeIN Sports, Wenger revealed links with Real Madrid.
Arsène Wenger is one of the most esteemed managers in the history of the Premier League. He was, on the whole, successful at Arsenal, although he did not stay in charge of the north London side for as long.
In an interview with BeIN Sports, Wenger revealed that when he was in charge of Arsenal, both Clasico sides tried to sign him as manager. But each time he refused.
“During the whole period I was there (at Arsenal), Real Madrid tried to sign me two or three times. Barcelona also did it once.”
At the peak of his form, Wenger would have been an excellent manager for Real Madrid or FC Barcelona, which is probably why their respective boards tried to bring in the Frenchman. However, it is clear that he was very dedicated to Arsenal during his stay.
