Real Madrid are often low-key during the January transfer window, with Los Blancos rarely making mid-season moves.
However, the Madrilenians will seek to part ways with a member of their squad this winter, according to the latest information from Madrid.
Last December, Real Madrid confirmed the signing of Endrick Felipe from Palmeiras, but he will not join the club until July 2024. It has been several years since an established first-team member was brought in or sold during the winter months.
However, Relevo claims Los Blancos will look to receive offers for French defender Ferland Mendy. Already last summer, Madrid had looked for a way out for the left-back, but the only firm offer came from Saudi Arabia – an offer that did not convince Mendy.
Real will be looking for a potential destination again this winter, having made a decision on him. Mendy has played just 389 minutes this season, without much impact, and over the past two years he has suffered a string of injuries, making him an unreliable option for Carlo Ancelotti.
From a player’s point of view, he remains committed to seeing out his contract until 2025, meaning the club must find an attractive destination for the Frenchman.
With the arrival of Fran Garcia from Rayo Vallecano, Alphonso Davies is the expected recruit for next year, who will become the de facto starter, leaving Mendy without much room for maneuver.
