During his hearing before the National Assembly this Thursday, Didier Deschamps sent a strong message concerning his future.
Before unveiling his next list for the Blues gathering in November, Didier Deschamps was questioned this Thursday by the National Assembly’s commission of inquiry into dysfunctions within sports federations. The French coach, under contract until 2026, was notably asked if he would like to one day become president of the FFF. And DD’s response was clear.
“I can’t answer you, because I won’t bereplied Deschamps in comments relayed by RMC Sport. I am fulfilled because I made my passion my profession, but having a different role, more political, less close to the field, is not at all my desires or my skills. »
“I say no, but a categorical no”
And to add: “But there are a lot of things that have been done for amateur football. Can we do more, yes, and Philippe Diallo presented his plan to you. Colossal sums are awarded. Is this enough? Certainly not. I wouldn’t want to hear that nothing was done. Obviously, the locomotive is the national selections. »
Already questioned on the subject in 2017, Didier Deschamps did not change his views… “I say no, but a categorical no”he said at the Téléfoot microphone, before launching: “It’s still a function that is very political and I’m politics…”
