A new striker in Barça's sights

The Catalan club is closely following the progress of Santiago Gimenez, the Mexican scorer from Feyenoord.

His name is Santiago Gimenez. And this Mexican striker has been delighting Feyenoord Rotterdam since 2022. After helping his club win the Dutch championship title last season, the former Cruz Azul player has had a great start to the year, with already 13 goals in 10 Eredivisie days, and a double against the Lazio for its only appearance in the Champions League.

The 22-year-old is one of the rising forwards in Europe, and Barca are among the clubs following him, according to ESPN. The Catalan club would have supervised him on several occasions, and would see in him qualities comparable to those of Luis Suarez.

Barça already has Robert Lewandowski in its ranks, and the nugget Vitor Roque is due to arrive from Athletico Paranaense, so it is not certain that the Blaugranas will set their sights on Gimenez. Especially since Feyenoord plans to ask for a very nice sum for its new jewel.
