Cristiano Ronaldo was attacked by Al-Ettifaq supporters, who chanted the name of Lionel Messi.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Al-Nassr had a complicated evening this Tuesday in the Copa del Rey. The Portuguese and his Saudi club secured qualification against Al-Ettifaq (1-0, ap), but this victory took time to take shape.

Al-Nassr had nevertheless believed to open the score through Talisca at the end of the first period (45th + 4), but the Brazilian’s goal was refused for a precise offside by Ronaldo (see below). In the process, Talisca received a red card for a dangerous tackle.

On a personal level, Ronaldo also had a difficult evening, since he was attacked by Al-Ettifaq supporters. According to AS, they chanted the name of Lionel Messi, the Portuguese’s eternal rival, crowned on Monday with an eighth Ballon d’Or. CR7 responded to them with a small gesture…

Al-Nassr finally won in overtime, thanks to a goal from Sadio Mané in the 107th minute. Ronaldo remained silent for the second meeting in a row, having previously remained on a series of 15 goals in 14 matches, including those played with Portugal.
