Messi won his eighth Ballon d’Or on Monday, after leading Argentina to victory in the World Cup last year. And that’s three more than Ronaldo, who hasn’t been crowned since 2017.
Seeing the Inter Miami star win the trophy, the head of football for the daily AS, Tomas Roncero, published a video in which he belittles La Pulga’s triumph: “As a tribute, it’s very good. It’s a very beautiful tribute. But, we know he is already retired in Miami.”
