First hitch for the Blues

After three victories in three matches, the French women’s team was held in check by Norway (0-0) on Tuesday evening during the 4th day of the Nations League.

No four in a row for the Blues. After successes against Portugal (2-0), Austria (0-1) then against Norway in Oslo (1-2), the French women’s team failed to continue its success in the League of Nations.

The Tricolores were held in check this Tuesday evening in Reims, by these same Norwegians (0-0), who bring up the rear in this group 2. Hervé Renard had however decided to play for continuity by maintaining nine starters from the first match in his starting eleven, therefore Amandine Henry and Griedge Mbock, two returnees. But Wendie Renard and her teammates failed to break through the Scandinavian barrier.

After a slightly timid first act, the coach saw “a lot of good things in the second half”. But the Blues lacked success, with great opportunities for Toletti (49th), Henry (56th) or Diani (82nd), and especially two posts and a crossbar, for Baltimore (70th), Henry (84th) and Le Sommer (86th).

“There are evenings like that where we lack a little precision and success, we have to accept it, it’s football“, reacted Hervé Renard, whose team still remains at the top of this group.
