The now eight-time Ballon d’Or winner, Lionel Messi, sees Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland winning the prestigious distinction soon.

This Monday evening at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, Lionel Messi was elected Ballon d’Or for the 8th time. The 2022 world champion beat the Norwegian Erling Haaland (2nd), and the Frenchman Kylian Mbappé (3rd).

After his new coronation, the Inter Miami striker had a few words for his two rivals. The former Barça man praised the qualities of his former teammate at Paris Saint-Germain, and those of the Manchester City striker, to whom he predicted at least one Ballon d’Or in the future.

“They are two extraordinary players. I spent two years in the same club as Kylian, I know his talent. We shared training and matches together and I know his immense talent. He’s still a young player, both of them are still young. I know we will find them again in the future. Haaland also has an extraordinary career. He won different titles. I am convinced that they will also win the Ballon d’Or”declared the “Pulga”.
