Present at the Ballon d’Or ceremony this Monday evening at the Châtelet theater in Paris, Vinicius Junior wanted to send a message against the racism of which he is a victim in Spain: “I can talk about racism. How many times we have had to face racism… It’s important to fight against it together. We must continue this fight. I want to pass this message on to all the children watching us.”.

As a reminder, the Brazilian international won the Sócrates Prize this year for having created his own institute, helping disadvantaged children in Rio de Janeiro and its surrounding areas. A logical reward for the work done on a social scale in his native country. He is the president of the “Vini.Jr” institute, a non-governmental organization founded in 2021, whose objective is to reduce inequalities in education in Brazil.
