This Sunday afternoon, three great oppositions took place at 3 p.m. for the 10th day of the Premier League. At Anfield, the atmosphere was special before facing Nottingham Forest (15th). Indeed, the affair of the kidnapping of Luis Diaz’s parents must have necessarily cooled the beautiful atmosphere which has reigned for several weeks among the Reds. However, on the field, Jürgen Klopp’s men did not seem affected. Indeed, while Diogo Jota opened the scoring after half an hour of play (1-0, 31st), the latter decided to celebrate his achievement by brandishing a jersey of his Colombian teammate. After these few seconds of tribute, it was Darwin Nunez who gave the Mersey club the break four minutes later (2-0, 35th). More discreet after returning from the locker room, Mohamed Salah’s friends scored a third goal thanks to the Egyptian winger and gleaned three precious points which allowed them to climb to third place in the standings. They are now three points behind leader Tottenham.

Liverpool are closely followed by Aston Villa. This Sunday, the Birmingham-based club won at home against relegated Luton and moved up to fourth place. At the end of a controlled first act, the locals took the advantage thanks to John McGinn. Returning from the locker room, Moussa Diaby scored his third goal of the season in the Premier League to make the break (2-0, 49th). And while Thomas Lockyer gave the Villans victory by scoring against his side (3-0, 62nd), Dibu Martinez also scored an unfortunate goal in his own net (3-1, 82nd). In the last meeting of this triplex, Brighton was held to a draw at home against Fulham. Evan Ferguson had however launched the hostilities in favor of the Seagulls (1-0, 26th). Finally, Joao Palhinha air-conditioned the AMEX Stadium to allow the Cottagers to pick up a precious point in the south of England. Brighton are seventh, Fulham fourteenth.
