Olympique de Marseille and Olympique Lyonnais face each other this Sunday for a highly anticipated Olympico (8:45 p.m.). Here is the expected line-up for the Marseille club.
On the Canebière, the storm has passed. After a start to the summer marked by a violent and sudden crisis, Olympique de Marseille has found a little serenity. Arrived to succeed Marcelino, Gennaro Gattuso has made his mark on the bench of the Marseille club. The Italian technician even manages to seduce his environment thanks to his communication and his playing precepts.
The next obstacle to stand in the way of the Marseillais will therefore be Olympique Lyonnais, in an “Olympico” considered one of the great poster boys of the modern era of the French championship. But with which starting lineup will OM approach this clash this Sunday evening (8:45 p.m.)?
The good news concerns the infirmary, which is gradually emptying in Marseille. Leonardo Balerdi will be absent due to suspension after his expulsion in Nice (0-1), but for the rest, Jonathan Clauss, Joaquin Correa, Samuel Gigot are on their way back. Pau Lopez is also doing much better. OM should therefore rely on their usual staff to try to break down their Lyon rival.
One choice, however, challenges Marseille supporters: who will be established as center forward? Thursday, against AEK Athens in the Europa League, it was Vitinha who was preferred to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. But the Gabonese could find his place this Sunday evening, with the objective of giving a new answer to his detractors.
The expected lineup for OM : Lopez – Clauss, Mbemba, Gigot, Lodi – Veretout, Rongier, Kondogbia – Sarr, Harit – Aubameyang
