BL: Dortmund comes from afar and snatches a point from a draw in Frankfurt

Faller of Newcastle in the Champions League (1-0) on Wednesday, Borussia Dortmund traveled, with full of confidence, to the pitch of Eintracht Frankfurt as part of the 9th day of the Bundesliga. Undefeated for six matches in all competitions, Edin Terzic’s men hoped to add another success to their credit to return to the level of Bayern Munich at the top of the championship. At the same time, Dino Toppmöller’s protégés intended to continue their momentum after having disposed of Hoffenheim the previous day. And very quickly, the residents of Deutsche Bank Park set the tone in this meeting. Taking advantage of a hand from Marius Wolf in his penalty area, Omar Marmoush was responsible for converting the penalty to open the score (1-0, 8th) before scoring a double a few minutes later by victoriously recovering a ball which hung around Gregor Köbel’s cage (2-0, 24th).

Manhandled, the Marsupials showed character to get back into the game through Marcel Sabitzer after a superb collective movement (2-1, 45th+1). Galvanized by the reduction in the score, the Austrian’s partners returned with better intentions in the second half. On a poorly returned ball by the Eagles defense, supersub Youssoufa Moukoko recovered the ball and struck with first intention to deceive Kévin Trapp (2-2, 54th). A short-lived joy for visitors. Launched in depth, Farès Chaïbi controlled in two stages before adjusting the Dortmund goalkeeper (3-2, 68th) to give his team the advantage. Far from being defeated, Dortmund, via Julian Brandt, set the record straight. On a strong cross from Karim Adeyemi, the German international cut at the near post to equalize (3-3, 82nd). If this result does not help Frankfurt, it also does not do Borussia Dortmund’s business one week before the Klassiker against Bayern Munich…
